This year Indonesia celebrates its 79th independence. Carrying the spirit of “New Archipelago, Advanced Indonesia”, this moment is an opening for Indonesia’s development into the future, because it is experiencing three major transitions, namely welcoming the new capital city, changing leaders and welcoming Indonesia Emas 2045.
This special moment also inspired the birth of a collaboration between JICAF (Jakarta Illustration & Creative Arts Fair), a forum for creative actors and artists, AMLI (Indonesian Outdoor Media Association), and APMF (Asia Pacific Media Forum), a forum for media and advertising activists, by presenting works of art in public spaces for the people of Indonesia.
Precisely at 17:08 for 45 seconds, JICAF, AMLI and APMF collaborated to show a video compilation of 79 works by Indonesian illustrators or visual artists through LED Display/Videotron or Outdoor Digital Media at Bundaran HI, along Sudirman-Thamrin Street, and MRT Station videotron screens, as well as several strategic locations in Jakarta and outside Jakarta. The simultaneous video screening is a form of appreciation for Indonesian visual artists in celebrating the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia and showing the world that our nation is a country that has a wealth of art and culture.
“AMLI (Association of Indonesian Outdoor Media Companies), with AMLI Members and other Outdoor Digital Media Organizers, took the initiative to facilitate the simultaneous broadcast of digital videotron content at the same time, in the framework of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration on August 17, 2024. The content of this simultaneous broadcast is the result of Indonesian Illustrators’ Artwork, which is communicated through Outdoor Digital Media, and can be enjoyed by the general public through large and small Digital Panels in various public spaces. And this will create a new opportunity, that Collaboration between Indonesian Creative Industry Players can contribute to communication, one of which is Artwork to the wider community, especially in this 79th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration” (F. Bernadi – General Chairperson of AMLI Indonesia)
